Privacy policy
Altona Cutz is a small haircut service in Takapuna, Auckland. This page explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what your rights are under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect when you request a booking
- your name
- your phone number or email address, depending on how you want your confirmation
- your note about the haircut, if you write one
- the date and time you asked for, and the status of your booking
We only ask for what is needed to confirm and manage your appointment.
If you use the contact form, we get your name, how you want a reply (phone number or email address) and your message. We only use this to answer you and delete it after 60 days.
Why we collect it
To hold your slot, confirm your appointment, send you the address and contact you if something changes. We don’t use your information for marketing, and we don’t sell or give it to anyone else.
Who can see it
Only the barber who runs Altona Cutz, through a password-protected admin page. Other visitors only see whether a time is free or booked, never names or numbers.
Confirmations are sent from a personal phone or email account by WhatsApp, text message or email, so the service you chose also handles that message.
Where it is stored
This website and its booking database are hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. Cloudflare may store data on servers outside New Zealand. It acts as our service provider and may only use the data to run its service for us.
When a new request comes in, a push notification is sent to the barber’s phone through ntfy.sh. It only contains the date and time of the request, never your name or contact details.
How long we keep it
Your name, contact details and note are deleted automatically 30 days after your appointment. Declined and cancelled requests are deleted after 7 days. Only the date, time and status stay, without any personal details, so the calendar and statistics keep working.
Payments
If you pay online through a payment link, the payment provider handles your card or account details. We only see that a payment was made. If you pay by bank transfer, we see your name as your bank shows it and the reference you entered.
Website visits
This website uses no cookies, no tracking tools and no advertising. We count how often each page is viewed per day, without any information about who you are.
To protect the booking form from spam, a one-way coded value of your IP address is used for at most one day and then deleted. Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver this website and protect it from attacks.
After you send a request, your browser keeps your booking link in its local storage so you can find it again on this device. Clearing your browser data deletes it.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it. Email altonacutz@gmail.com, use the contact form or reply to your confirmation message. We answer within 20 working days.
If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too.
